THE (W)RITES OF PASSAGE GUEST AUTHOR SERIES WELCOMES SELAH SATERSTROM in celebration of her forthcoming book Rancher (October 28th, 2021). Selah will be teaching TWO DIFFERENT workshops for us—one in early September and another in early November—the latter to coincide with the release date of her next novel you can purchase by clicking on this link:

Sunday, Sept. 5th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. MST via zoom

Rejection is something writers contend with: there are the rejections we receive from the publishing world and there are also the stories we tell ourselves about failure, sometimes before we even begin writing. In this gathering we will consider the collective wisdom about rejection as it relates to literary pursuits, while also experimenting with strategies to engage with rejection in ways that don’t exhaust us or shut down our creative processes. All genres welcome. This workshop is capped at 8 students for the intimacy the subject matter requires so we advise signing up as soon as possible. $100.00. To register, please email and specify which of Selah's workshops you'd like to take; your payment will be due at this time to hold your spot (no refunds after August 21st). If you provide proof you purchased Selah's new book Rancher (preorders are the best way to support a writer's new book), you'll get 10% off (offer good for one workshop only). As of now, RETHINKING REJECTION is SOLD OUT. If you'd like to be on the wait list let us know but remember there is plenty of room for everyone in Selah's WRITING THE IMPOSSIBLE (info below).

Saturday, November 6th from 1:00-2:00 p.m. MST via Zoom

How can we enter difficult or complex subject matter when the task seems overwhelming? Where do we begin and how do we keep going? How do we move into the space of writing “big themes” – loss, recovery, transformation – when the largeness of such themes can feel intimidating? In this gathering we will work with a writing strategy that calls together the energy of material that might otherwise feel impossible. All genres welcome. Selah uses these techniques herself. The more, the merrier, come one, come all! $30.00 (or $27.00 if you show us proof you purchased Rancher). To register please email and specify which workshop you'd like to attend. Payment will be due upon registration. No refunds after October 23rd. Deadline to sign up will be Wednesday, November 3rd, 2021 at midnight in Colorado.
